We are home now and I expected some kind of a feedback request from you but so far got nothing, and decided to send one anyway.
First of all I wanted to thank you in the name of the whole group for a very successful trip. Everything went smoothly and according to plan. The itinerary was well planned, the guides were knowledgeable and caring, the vans were in good condition and comfortable.
I would like to point out several things that were less than 100% - maybe it will be useful to you in the future:
a- the english accent of some of the guides was very bad and we could hardly understand them. Our best guide was Dara in Phnom Penh, unfortunately he was with us only for one day. Chum in Hanoi and Ky in HCM city were also good, The others were also good and warm and kind and we loved them all, but sometimes we had hard time to understand them, maybe because we are not native english speakers
b- most of the hotels were good. The worst was in Phnom Penh - small and smelly rooms and awful maitenance. The one in Siem Reap had nice rooms, but lots of maitenance problems. The same goes for the hotel in Sapa - they had serious problems with the hot water supply, which was extremely annoying.
c- the itinerary was almost perfect, but I think the time in Siem Reap was too long, 2 days would be quite enough, and it could be nice to spend one more day in Hoi An or Hue.

I also wish to thank Mr Huy for his service, local knowledge, willingness to please and for going out of his way to show us the beauty of Vietnam. We have enjoyed our time in Vietnam so much we are already looking into coming back. We credit the wonderful experience in Vietnam to Mr Huy because without him we would not have seen, understood or enjoyed our time in Ho Chi minh any where near as much. Hi Winston – a note of thanks for our wonderful trip to Vietnam. Everything went without a hitch – absolutely superb !!! The guides were fantastic as was the country and all the places we went and people we met. The trip covered a variety of sites, activities and experiences so I congratulate you on organizing it for us.
I have only one comment to make and that’s regarding tipping the tour guides. As we don’t tip in Australia , nor do the Vietnamese, but considering the poor wages we had no idea what to tip and we couldn’t tip the guide without the driver. Perhaps giving some guide to future travelers would be of benefit. We overtipped in the beginning but got it figured out by the end after asking Mr Danh & Mr Trang. Also we weren’t sure about tipping the boat drivers considering we were the only ones on the boat eg on Perfume River and Halong Bay.
This is a trivial issue in the big scheme of things so I want to make more the point about the fabulous timing and thought you put into our time there. Again , many thanks.

This is some feedback from our trip to Vietnam.
* Ms Luu Vo - excellent, very keen to help and accommodate us. * HCMC tour & Mekong Delta - excellent. Tam was a very good guide and is obviously proud of his country and its heritage. Our driver/s were also excellent. * Hue and Hoi An - our guide Lam, was a very nice person, but his pronounciaton of English was poor and he was difficult to understand. Content of the tour was good and driver was excellent. * Hanoi - Accommodation was the poorest of our tour, but it was only for one night and it was almost like living in a tube house. Our guide, Long, was excellent. * All transfers were very good and flights with Vietnam Air was excellent. * Lunches - they were very good. Two were much the same (Elephant ear fish) and they were both in the Mekong, but they were all of a high standard. * Cu Chi tour - for my wife, this was a highlight and it was everything she could have wished for because she teaches Vietnamese history. Just a quick note to say a BIG BIG thank you!!! We had a FANTASTIC time in Vietnam, definetely will be back. I have recommended you to some of my cieints and friends so please do not be surprised if you hear from some people from Paris or UK. Our guides were excellent, we loved Quang who took us to the Cu Chi tunnels, Trang in Hanoi and Visal in Siem Reap - then a lovely girl who picked us up in Danang airport!!!! Please tell them all a special thanks!! The trips were nice too and the service overall, great!!!! We will def use TNK the next time in Vietnam - wish you continued success!! I recently spent time in HCMC and surrounding areas on a school history trip which had 10 travellers on board. We searched the web and found AnAn2 hotel, (whom we booked a few days) they forwarded our itinerary ideas to TNK Travel. Within a short time and some emails between TNK & us, we had our itinerary set with a budget direct from Vietnam which could not be beaten in NZ. Arriving at the airport we met our fabulous tour guide. He had so much information and answered all of our questions in English. He was never late and offered us a few extra stops and changed a few things as we wished. Vietnam is a most extroadinary place to visit the people have big hearts, and nothing is too much trouble as we dsicovered at the hotels and restaurants we visited which had been booked by TNK. The food was delicious whereever we were. TNK's driver got us from A-Z without a hitch in a country where driving would be a challenge for most visitors. When outside HCMC TNK had other tour guides to meet us, equally with plenty of information on the area we were visiting, I would recommend both TNK Travel and AnAn2 hotel (which is right next door) to anyone visiting Vietnam. They are situated in the heart of District 1 HCMC where there is an array of street life 24/7. We had a great trip and I would like to return.

Day 1 : Arrival to Ha Noi ( D ) Arrive at Noi Bai international airport. Visa arrangements. Welcome by your local tour guide and driver. Transfer to your hotel in the city center. Take an orientation tour on the cyclos (if time permits). Welcome dinner. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Hanoi.
Day 2 : Ha Noi City Tour ( B / L / _ ) Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. Continue on to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Ethnology, Hoan Kiem lake, Ngoc Son temple and enjoy riding in a rickshaw for 1 hour in the old quater of Hanoi and its teeming streets filled with fascinating shops. Dinner at the restarant. Transfer to the train station for departure to Sapa on the night train. Overnight in an air-conditioned soft sleeper cabin. ( 2 pax / cabin, wooden cabin )
Day 3 : Lao Cai - Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van ( B / L / _ ) Arrive at Lao Cai station at 6:00am. Pick up at Lao Cai Station then transfer to Sapa. Have breakfast then leave the hotel , start trekking downhill to Y Linh Ho and Muong Hoa Valley through rice paddies and small hamlets to learn the life of hill tribes here. Communication exchange with local people in Lao Chai village then continuing walking through villages and rice terraced fields to Ta Van village settled by Dzay ethnic. Have pinic lunch on the way then keep going to the bottom of Sapa valley which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. Back to Sapa in the afternoon. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Sapa.
Day 4 : Sapa – Cat Cat – Ta Phin - Hanoi ( B / L / _ ) Breakfast at hotel. Trek down to Cat Cat village of Black H'Mong tribe. Enjoy the waterfall in CatCat village and beautiful scenery along the way.Jeep back to Sapa. Check out the hotel. Have lunch at the local restaunt. Afternoon, take a car to Ta Phin village to visit the house of Red Dao people, walk around the village to explore the custom, dailylife and weaving technique of the Red Dao people. Transfer to Lao Cai for overnight train back to Ha noi. Overnight in an air-conditioned soft sleeper cabin. ( 2 pax / cabin, wooden cabin ).
Day 5 : Ha Noi - Ha long ( B / L / D ) Arrive in Hanoi around 5.00am. Pick up at the railway station. Transfer to a restaurant for breakfast then leave for Ha Long Bay through the Red River Delta. Board on the Junk, enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, check in your cabin. Enjoy the sea seafood lunch served on board. Cruise to the Bay to enjoy the beautiful views of the world natural heritage with limestone cliffs growing up from the green tranquil water, see Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Sail island, visit Sung Sot Cave the nicest cave in the Bay, visit Titop island, walk up the hill to enjoy the panorama of the Bay, relax on the beach. Have dinner and relax in quite and fresh Bay. You sleep anchored in the bay, rocked by the gentle ocean waves. (Optional: Kayaking).
Day 6 : Ha long - Ha noi ( B / L ) A new day wake you up with joys and emotions in an early morning for watching sunrise on sea. Have breakfast on boat. More cruising to explore the Bay with Man head island, Tortoise Island, take a light rowing boat trip to discover Luon Cave, enjoy the impressive views of Bai Tu Long Bay, Bai Tho Mountain, and the city overview. Have lunch on board while cruising back to the dock. Disembark at Halong Tourist Wharf for the return to Hanoi. Return to Hanoi ( Or transfer to the airport for departure flight ). End of services.
